Monétique and Band Perform LIVE!



Monétique has been booked to perform their first set of the year on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 at the Tampa Bay International Curry Festival!  This performance will include songs from their new EP, "Don't Put Me in a Box", in addition to several covers of classic and current chart toppers.  The last time the full band was used was in 2011, just before the duo took a well needed break vocally, and to start crafting the EP (#DPMIAB) in 2012.

After the sabbatical, they have returned, and are in full effect.  This set will be focused on merging the gap between the authentic reggae rhythms and their International sound.  We hope you are ready for what the twins have in store!  Monétique will be followed by another performer at the event, Prime Dinero who will bring his Brooklyn-style rap to the Tampa festival.  T-shirts, download cards, and CDs are among the items available at this event.  Monétique will be intermingling amongst the crowd before and after their set.  If you see the twins, stop them.  They want to take a picture with you!

The Curry Festival was initiated to raise funds for local charities in Tampa Bay.  This event is set to be huge benefit for the community and all those involved.  Although the main event will be both the Amateur and Professional Chefs Curry Cook-off, the goal is to raise as much funds as possible.  Feel free to visit the site to find out how you can volunteer, become a vendor, or participate.

Grad School is Complete! Where do we go from here?

          Attending Full Sail University hasn't always been easy.  The road may have been rough, but it has been worth it.  Not only has attending school for an Entertainment Business Master's been an adventure, but managing the time to complete the assignments with an already full schedule.  I am responsible for contacting businesses in hopes of securing deals, scheduling bookings, rehearsals, appointments, photo shoots, and more... all while attending Full Sail!  Working my regular 9 to 5, in addition to 2 other jobs, training for Figure Competitions, rehearsals with the band etc have really challenged my organizational skills.  And I love a challenge!

          So, today, I will tell you what to expect in the near future from Lady Monarch Productions.  We are a music publishing company looking to work with filmmakers, game-developers, television music directors, Radio Music Directors, record label A&Rs, mega-producers seeking talent, and more.  We focus on providing services that include Hit songwriting, collaborating with one-of-a kind producers, music publishing, and merchandise sales.  If there is a brand that you are trying to promote or endorse, or if there is music that needs to be registered and published, and if you are an Independent artist like myself, then let's network!  I will be working with only the talent that the organization deems as marketable, innovative, and ORIGINAL.

          Monétique, of Lady Monarch Productions, Inc., is currently being promoted and published.  Our agenda is filling up fast as 2013 continues to move forward.  We are now singing the National Anthem at the University of South Florida Men's/Women's Basketball games, and now have also been invited to sing for the USF Softball and Baseball games.  The current agenda is still being constructed, but I will announce that we will be performing music from the NEW EP "Don't Put Me in a Box" on April 20th, 2013 at the International Curry Festival.  We are also going to be published, and the June cover story in LYFE Mag, stay tuned for the highlights of the photo shoot and Interview in 2 weeks! There is another performance in September for a Guianese non-profit organization.  Performances are still being scheduled for 2013, so if you are (or know someone who is) seeking to have Monétique perform LIVE at their event, please email Eva D and mention BOOKING in the Subject.

          Fresh off some performances, including "Krunk for Christ" 2 weeks ago, Monétique performed for the kids in the Tampa Bay community with Michelle B. Patty.  This past Friday we performed for MA Girls Rock.  "MA" is a non-profit organization that stands for Mama Africana.  They mentor girls and provide a support system either through prayer, and/or financially.  Feel free to contact us if interested in becoming a mentor, or prayer sponsor.  We can direct you to the organization founder.  Check out some pictures below that we took at the end of the Krunk for Christ event:

Music Publishing- the AK Way!

          Today, I will discuss a couple of ways in which Alicia Keys and her team are utilizing music publishing in effort to promote her album.  As we all know, “Girl on Fire” has definitely put Keys back on the map post marriage, pregnancy and childbirth.  It was a strong way to enter the music industry by storm.  She chose first utilize heavy online social media updates.  For example, constantly posting videos from the studio, and pictures during rehearsal was a way to keep the fans and potential fans on the edge of their seats in anticipation.  She came out with a viral video for 'New Day', then a “lyric” video, and then finally, an Official video.  These videos were published to allow the song to circulate while the music video was being scheduled for shooting. It allowed time for even the music to “grow” on people, if needed, by the time the official music video was released. Check out the links to the videos below.
            Next, do you remember seeing Alicia Keys sing at the Superbowl?  The next goal was to be as visible as possible for as many major events THIS year. She made an appearance, even if she is not what some would have thought to be the first choice to sing the National Anthem at such an event.  Regardless, her team successfully booked her for the gig.  Next on the agenda for Alicia was to sing on the GRAMMYs stage.  This was a big event for her as well.  To allow her new brand to be heard in front of other Industry greats, not just fans.

Most recently, tonight she sang at the NBA All-Star game.  She is keeping her appearances regular and also stimulating the buzz consistency.  All being said, she is promoting her brand, her new album, “Girl on Fire”, and a Brand New Me [Alicia], as a song on her album says.

She was also sporting a new Reebok creation, with Keys' creative assistance, called the AKW’s, which are not yet set to be released. So, not only is she promoting herself/brand, but also a product to affiliate herself with.  This keeps her name on the market for more potential sales, notoriety, fashion sense, and brand significance.  These are three points that Alicia used to publish herself in the recent months.

So, to recap, the three publishing tactics currently being utilized is:

  1. Use online social media HEAVILY to engage audience.
  2. Be as visible as possible at major events.
  3. Establish a product to affiliate yourself with.
